Dr. Alexandros Kalantzis has a long experience in representing international and Greek clients, including public and private companies, leading multinational as well as large Greek companies and high-net-worth individuals, in a number of high-profile litigation cases, both as a plaintiff’s and defense attorney, before the Greek courts and before arbitration tribunals, with an impressive success record. His non-contentious work includes counselling and advising Greek and foreign clients of all sizes on all areas of commercial transactions and business disputes with particular focus on aviation law, agency and distribution agreements, bankruptcy and insolvency law, commercial sales and leases, companies and corporations, competition law (free-competition and unfair competition), consumer protection, data protection, insurance law, intellectual property and trademarks, IT and telecommunications, maritime law (shipbuilding contracts, carriage of goods by sea, charterparties, marine insurance, ship mortgages et al.) and transport of goods.

Alexandros has been a member of the Athens Bar since 1978. He is also a collaborator of the Greek Institute of International and Foreign Law, a member of the Association of Commercial Lawyers, a member of the Board of Directors and General Secretary of the Greek Section of the International Association for Insurance Law (AIDA), a member of the Greek Maritime Law Association, the Greek Section of the Comitè Maritime International (CMI) and a member of the European Air Law Association.

Prior to joining the firm in 1991, Alexandros was a partner at J. Nicolacopoulos-A. Kalantzis Law Offices for 10 years and before that he was an associate at Christos Maneas Law Office for three years.

Alexandros obtained his law degree from the Law School of the University of Thessaloniki and also holds a Ph.D. in Commercial and Maritime Law from the Law School of the University of Athens. Alexandros is fluent in Greek and English and has a fair knowledge of French, German and Italian.

Alexandros has published numerous books, articles, contributions in collective works and various other publications and is a well-regarded speaker on the topics of his expertise. He has delivered talks at a broad range of conferences platforms.

Education

Alexandros obtained his law degree from the Law School of the University of Thessaloniki and also holds a Ph.D. in Commercial and Maritime Law from the Law School of the University of Athens.
