Georgios Tsakonas has been with the firm since 2020 based in the Athens office. Georgios specializes in administrative law with a particular focus on tax and public procurement law. He provides advice to corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals on a regular basis on direct and indirect taxation matters. Moreover, he advises clients with respect to their participation in public tender procedures and on any issues arising on the post-award stage, while also providing assistance both during litigation procedures before administrative authorities and administrative courts.
George has gained particular experience in M&A transactions across the real estate, technology, and yachting sectors. He has been involved in the execution of share and asset acquisitions, advising both domestic and international clients throughout the full transaction lifecycle — from conducting legal due diligence and identifying key legal risks, to drafting and negotiating transaction documents including share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, and ancillary documentation.
Ηe has also developed extensive experience in FDI screening and clearance procedures in Greece, advising foreign investors on the applicable regulatory framework and managing filings before the competent authorities.
Education
Georgios has been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2021.
He obtained his law degree from the Law School of the University of Athens. He also holds a LL. M. with honors in Public Law- Public Policies Specialisation: Tax Law from the Law School of the University of Athens.
